Meet Matthias


A twenty five year national touring and recording drummer, Matthias is the company leader for the nation's leading era tribute company  Perfect World Entertainment, which houses cast members: Jeff Scott Soto (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN/NEAL SCHON) Johnny Gioeli (HARDLINE) Jason Orme (ALANIS MORISSETTE) as well as Matthias' band "THE SPAZMATICS", an 80's new wave show that has taken the country by storm and literally ignited the 80's revival across the U.S. with events ranging from several televisionappearances to a private party for President George W. Bush at his home in Crawford , TX. While off tour, Matthias is the owner/operator of and also provides private drum instruction in the San Francisco / Contra Costa area in his full recording studio/rehearsal facility, Red Room Studios. 

Matthias is currently the touring drummer for the melodic hard rock band "HARDLINE" formed by his long time friend Johnny Gioeli and Neal Schon (Journey) . Matthias is also the recording drummer for the Brad Gillis Solo Project as well as providing internet drum tracks for artists all over the world. 

Residing in Los Angeles during the 80's and 90's, Matthias recorded and or played live with countless projects including : Michael Schenker, Stevie Salas (ROD STEWART, WAS NOT WAS) Sass Jordan, producer Lee Curreri (FAME, NATALIE COLE) and local favorites :The Elektric Eyes and Ruby Slippers. 

In the early 80's, Matthias co founded the SF glam pop band "CASTLE BLAK" with vocalist/songwriter Regent St Claire. Their debut LP "BABES IN TOYLAND" enjoyed European hit status on EMI RECORDS. "Babes" was produced by then local musician/producer and friend Kevin Army, who later went on to engineer the top ten "INSOMNIAC" by GREEN DAY. Blak was featured on Hit Parader magazine's compilation "The Wild Bunch" and also the CMJ College Music Report's "Killer Pick", as well as on the cover of the world's biggest selling monthly rock magazine KERRANG!
